Rome Mazza
Pianist, Keyboardist, Composer, Editor, Arranger, Producer- These are just a few of the titles and faces of Rome Mazza. His creative ability to blend instrumental compositions is truely unique, impressive and a sheer joy to listen to. His current project is the third CD, due out in late 2007 or early 2008.
Rome was born in Phillipsburg, Montana. From there, he moved to Anaconda, Montana, then Tucson, Arizona, then San Diego, California and for the last 30 some years has resided in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA.
He is a current member of the New Mexico Film Comission and in December 2006, was selected to attend the film producer conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Rome has received several awards for his compositions as well as great reviews in the local area newspapers. He has also acted as a judge for local music competitions. Rome attended both the University of New Mexico and New Mexico State University.
Rome began his piano study at age 6 and continued for several years to learn the instrument. While in school, he played piano and keyboards for small local bands, and entertained locally for a short period of time.Today, he spends much of his free time composing in his home studio. Rome uses his grand piano to write most of his pieces as well as the Kurzweil K2500X custom built keyboard. Other instruments include approximately 12 synths, the Korg Triton, Akoustik Piano's and the list grows.
Since most music is now listened to via digital means, nearly all compositions are recorded digitally via Logic Pro and his faithfull Mac G4.
Rome is an avid golfer, skiier, contractor, father and husband. His studio, "Golden Receiver Studio, LLC" is aptly named for his love of his freinds, the Golden Retrievers.
